Currently, the Protagonize story type is fully functional with a working description, content, and title boxes. You can also fill out the Author's Guidance on this page, though it will not yet appear in the sidebar.
Coming soon:
1. Author's Guidance content appearing in the sidebar.
2. Chapter Select in sidebar.
3. "Add Forum Category" button.
4. The return of comments at the bottom of each page.
I'll do a HTML class on CodeAcademy and see if I can learn it to help you out man. This is a great idea
Thanks Damien, welcome to Remnants. I will certainly appreciate the help.
What's new this week:
1. Added rough chapter navigation on Protagonize stories so that readers and authors can read and add later chapters.
2. Added a description field to new Protagonize stories that appears at the top of the first page.
3. Added an Author's guidance Field to stories.
4. Comments can now be added to each page.
More to come:
1. Author's guidance in sidebar. (Instead of that weird bit of code)
2. A more streamlined chapter navigation.
3. Add Forum Category Button.
4. Stylistic tweaks and optimizations.
Tips, tricks and suggestions welcome.
Something new (and a little exciting) is in the works. I'm developing a new way to write Protagonize stories, to make the in-story navigation easier. Please disregard the "Admin Only" button and textbox for now, to avoid losing your stories.
Soon, (hopefully within the next day or two) that button will be up and running, and it will be replacing the current Protagonize style button we have going for us.
What's new this week:
1. Author's guidance now works (on main story pages anyway) feel free to add it into the Author's Guidance field on the first page of your stories. (just click "Edit Chapter".
2. Collaborative Corner forum group added. Now we can discuss our stories in style!
More to come:
1. A new "Add Story" button.
2. A streamlined Chapter Navigation
3. Author's guidance on All the pages.
What's new this week:
1. Added Previous and Next Chapter buttons to the navigation on each page.
2. Edited Home Page as well as added various helpful pages for new members.
3. Added a Recent Activity page, so that we can see what's new on Remnants.
4. Removed "Admin Only" button from the "Add a Story" page.
More to come:
1. Still working on that new "Add Story" button, but that project is turning out to be more complex than it ought to be.
Liking the snazzy new Remnants banner and badge :)
And the nod to Protag's lightning bolt.
Hi, Jsimmons - and Thank-You for the site.
Germanic fonts can sometimes play hard to read.
This one's pretty clean to my eye.
What's new this week, but from another person!
I'm Eilidhan, and where JSimmons makes the site actually function, I make it look prettier.
I've been messing around with the CSS theme extensions, which has so far resulted in:
1. My logo for the site is now up there and clickable!
2. The sidebar is now set to a constant width, and the text should wrap about the width of the sidebar from the right hand side of the screen, making it (hopefully) looks less awkward on bigger screens.
3. Increased the font size of the paragraph tag, so main text should be bigger.
4. Changing most of the fonts from Arial to Times New Roman, because J asked me to.
5. Have made the Author's Guidance in the sidebar collapsible (though that's normal wikidot syntax rather than CSS).
What I'm working on next:
1. Figuring out how to make the spacing between new lines and new paragraphs different. Wikidot seems to be really awkward about this.
2. Changing anything about the font in the top navbar reliably.
3. A potential colour scheme change, though since the current one looks alright this isn't a high priority.
Any feedback? Any suggestions? Let me know!
Hello! Jsimmons here with an update on site functionality:
What's New:
1. New Table of Contents for chapters and main story pages alike.
2. A new You button in the top Navigation that leads to a customizable profile page!
3. A little behind the scenes work to make the navigation and new profile pages work smoothly.
What's next:
1. Favorites button!
We will be adding a way to follow stories so that we don't have to navigate through all the stories just to find the ones we're working on or want to read.
2. Page/story sorting to make navigating the list of stories a little easier.
3. A personalized notifications page that links both responses to forums and new pages in works.
3.5 Notifications number on homepage.
