About

Remnants of Protagonize is a landing site for authors who had ongoing projects on the website Protagonize, which went offline on the 3rd of June, 2017. This is a preservation attempt, and any help with the building and design of the site is welcome.

Who We Are

My name is Jsimmons, and I was with Protagonize for 6 years, and wrote many pages with my fellow authors. I created Remnants in order to continue the works that I had created there, and to provide a new place for authors to go to write with others without worrying about subscriptions, or rules, or competition.

What We're Doing

We were established at the announcement of Protagonize's end, in May 2017, but I'm still continually learning.

Remnants is a place for writers to write, and not get bogged down in politics or technicalities. WikiDot has a No Page Left Behind policy. Your work is safe and will not be deleted without your permission. All chapters can currently have multiple followups, so that if someone accidentally posts before you, you are welcome to post in the same place, or continue the work from there. Addventures (stories with branches) are just as easily created as linear stories. Add a Page, add a Sentence with our FreeForm style. It should not be complicated for writers to write, and here we want to make it as easy as possible.

While I am mostly the one who's been responsible for the coding of the site, and making sure everyone can post their content without hassle, I'd like to give special thanks to:

Eilidahn: Our visual developer. She designed the original site layout! A couple of times, actually. She also developed our first logo and favicon.

ImprintedHeart: She designed our second logo/favicon, which I loved just as much as the first, when Eilidahn went on holiday and didn’t come back for a long time.

JontyStern: a very special thanks to the benefactor that keeps me motivated to come back and continues to let me know my site is enjoyed.
